That’s why we created our ‘Life Happens’ mortgage proposition. It’s designed specifically for customers who may have experienced financial hardship due to a life event but have since demonstrated strong financial management and long‑term stability.

This proposition is currently in its pilot phase and has been live with one other network. We’re pleased to confirm that it is now available to all advisers at Connect.

Who is Life Happens for?

This proposition is designed for customers who:

• Have previously faced financial difficulty as a result of a life event (such as illness, job loss, or divorce).
• Can demonstrate a clear recovery period and a consistent ability to manage their finances since then.
• Are ready to move forward without being held back by past circumstances.

We believe in understanding a customer’s full financial picture today, not defining them by a single moment in the past.  We’re adjusting our core lending criteria to introduce new, clearly defined lending tiers. These tiers allow us to cater for a broader range of circumstances, including applicants with more recent, but well‑managed credit issues.
